ISA has now published the complete official programme of the 5th ISA Forum of Sociology ( https://isaconf.confex.com/isaconf/forum2025/meetingapp.cgi/Home/0 ; also published on this site). This allows us all to settle our travel and accommodation arrangements.
As in other years, RCSL will support the travel costs of some of the students and post-docs participating in its sessions at Rabat. About four grants should be awarded depending on the effective travel costs to be funded.
Interested persons should send their application by next Friday 23 May 24:00 UTC.
Applications have to be sent by the applicants to pierre.guibentif[at]iscte-iul.pt. To be eligible, they have to include
- a copy of the mail received from isaconf@confex.com confirming the applicant’s registration to the Forum,
- a copy of the applicant’s passport,
- a short justification of the demand,
- for post-docs, a document certifying the date of defence of the PhD,
- references (dates and times, flight numbers), and an estimated price of the flight to be booked***,
- a statement of availability to write a short report about an aspect of the Rabat Forum for the RCSL Newsletter.
Eligible applications will be ranked according to the status of participant and the country of origin, the order already adopted for the ISA registration grant call:
- Students from C countries
- Students from B countries
- Post doc researchers from C countries (up to three years after PhD)
- Post doc researchers from B countries (up to three years after PhD)
- Students from A countries justifying special needs
- Post doc researchers from A countries (up to three years after PhD) justifying special needs
The ranking and the final selection, taking into account, if necessary, the justification of the demand, will be established by the Rabat 2025 Programme Committee in principle until Wednesday 28 May.
Please note: The grants can exclusively be used for tickets ordered and booked by Dinâmia’CET_Iscte in Lisbon, which supports RCSL Presidency in this matter. Reimbursement of tickets already purchased is not possible.
*** If you fly via Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, with more international connections than the Rabat Airport, and a good train connection to Rabat ( https://www.moroccotrains.com/rabat-to-casablanca-train ), the train ticket will be covered by the grant.
