RCSL at the 2027 ISA World Congress: Call for Sessions

While finalizing the preparations for its 2026 Meeting in Santiago de Chile, RCSL is pleased to begin preparations for its participation in the XXI ISA World Congress of Sociology, which will take place in Gwangju, Korea, from 4 to 10 July 2027, under the theme “Global Sociology in Turbulent Times.”

As a first step, we invite RCSL WG Chairs and other interested RCSL Members to submit session proposals by 25 June 2026.

2026 Santiago de Chile RCSL Meeting – Travel Grants

The preparation of the 2026 Santiago de Chile RCSL Meeting ( https://rcsl2026.udp.cl/) is well on the way and its complete programme should be published in the next weeks. It is now time for potential participants to deal with their travel and accommodation arrangements.

As in other years, RCSL will support the travel costs of some of the students and post-docs participating in the 2026 Meeting.

Interested persons should send their application by next May 25th 24:00 UTC.

Workshop on Legal Cultures and Legal Consciousness

RCSL Working Group on Comparative Legal Culture and RCSL Working Group on Knowledge and Opinion about Law – Legal Consciousness jointly organize a workshop on 8 December 2025 in Budapest, at Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Law. A call for the Scientific Directorship of the International Institute for the Sociology of Law (IISL), term September 2025-July 2027, renewable one time, has been issued. Applications should be submitted by 30 April 2025. Download here the complete text of the call. An additional information and an additional deadline: The call for pre-registration for the International Master in Sociology of Law of the University of the Basque Country, organized by the International Institute for the Sociology of Law, is open until 26 March 2025. Podgórecki Prize 2024 awarded

As announced at the occasion of the RCSL 2024 Bangor Annual Meeting, the Podgórecki Prize 2024 was awarded ex aequo to Julia Dahlvik (Viena) and Edvaldo Moita (Brasília). Our warm congratulations to both laureates! Details will be published soon in the RCSL Newsletter and on the present website.
